There I am in the crowd waiting for the next speaker!
Twitter was just becoming recognized as we turned the corner into 2009. I had a few followers including a real estate agent in Olympia. She sent a tweet about BarCamp in Portland and how it was free. I signed up in February not having a clue what I was going to. But, since it was free I figured that I didn't have much to lose. As the date closed in on me I emailed the coordinator and found out that it was a conference that focused on Social Networking for real estate agents. That one day did have such a profound impact on my business. I learned how much I knew and how much I don't know. But, what was so important is that I realized how the clockhour class I had pending approval at the Dept of Licensing would be so important for agents to take. I met some incredible people that taught me and continue to teach me how to be connected online. I am so thankful for all those that spoke at the conference, those that I am still in touch with, and to Sarah who sent me a "tweet" about it.
