Climb Aboard the Lady Washington in Kirkland

Kyler and I took a tour of the Lady Washington historic ship when it was docked in Kirkland. It was such a thrill for me because when I was in my early teens I sailed on the Shenandoah out of Martha's Vineyard on the East Coast two summers in a row. When I was on the Lady Washington I was flooded with memories of heaving the lines to raise the sails, polishing the brass, being greeted by tourists in every port, and drooling over the crew.

This is a photo of an old postcard I have of the Shenandoah. It was built in the late 1960's as a replica of an old ship. In total, I was on the ship for 3 weeks over two different summers.

Mary Comes Cruising on Rophy

Mary (my cousin-in-law) and her husband, Tim, came to visit in July. We took a cruise with some of my friends on the Rophy down the ship canal and into Lake Union. Then we had dinner wtih Bob at a Thai Restaurant in Belltown. The day went by so quickly. I always laugh out loud when I am with Mary.
