It is such a treat to get to spend time with my little grand daughter, Riley. She is such a doll! Colin invited me at the last minute to meet him for breakfast at their favorite family place in Magnolia. It has a little play area for the kids, so its just perfect. The time went quickly! I got a few photos and they are so precious!

We have this fun committee putting together the walking tour that we got a grant to do from Mayor McGinn and the City of Seattle! The money goes for the cost of the technology.. and we all put in hours to create the tour. Thanks to Jane and Roberta it all came together!

I open the mail and there is a 5 foot long family tree all hand drawn! It is my fathers side of the family back to the great grandparents from Lithuania. A distant relative sent it to me.
I contacted Mr Balzekas in Chicago who started the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture. He referred me to Rick Zelis. Rick knew my dad. He doesn't use the computer.. but he sent me this detailed family tree. He referred me to another relative who got me involved in Ancestry.com and showed me all kinds of documents about my relatives. Oh, it is addicting! There is so much to know!

Colin and Terrah bought their first home this month! They are busy remodeling it... taking it down to the studs with new floors, redoing the walls, new appliances and even new siding. I helped pull nails out of the floors all afternoon. It was so great getting to be a small... very small... part of their remodel. I wished I could have helped more. It was So exciting!

Kyler is a University of Oregon Law Student in her first year. She is totally enjoying the school, learning about law, and meeting new friends. This was my first visit to her apartment. I came down for a few days and then took a carload of her things home for the summer. I got the opportunity to meet some of her friends and teachers, go into classrooms even one that looks like a courtroom, and have lunch at one of her favorite hangouts. Kyler is on Law Review and is a top student!
On my own while she was studying I drove out to a winery up on a hill and had lunch with a view.

Evie always makes me laugh! I have known her for more than 30 years! We met when she was in marketing and I was in sales even before I had my first baby! Dolly and I met just after that and it wasn't until years later that I knew they were friends! Dolly and I went to Switzerland together to visit Evie several years ago. She was in town this week and I got to spend the afternoon with her and Dolly. Evie craved a big hamburger and then we went to Dolly's garden. Time went flying by. It makes me realize how much I really like those two women in my life and what an impact they have on me!

One of my favorite ways to spend Mother's Day is to drive around Kirkland and visit the art studios that are open. It's an annual event. I get to see some gorgeous art, get inspired to create more art, meet some really great people in the community, and see some fabulous homes! I was so busy trying to get to as many homes as I could that I didn't carry my camera.

It was special celebrating Mothers Day weekend with Kyler in Portland. We met up at a McMenamin's Inn near Hillsboro and just had a fabulous time. We had a delicious brunch at the Inn, shopped in Portland, listened to concerts at the inn and just relaxed. I tried bubble tea for the first time... it is an odd drink.. still not sure what I think.

In class at Windermere last month a real estate agent told me about the charity auction to benefit homeless. She encouraged me to enter and paint a chair to be auctioned off. My entry was a stool that was painted like a cow with udders. I was inspired by the stool that I have in my kitchen. Kees helped by making and attaching the udders. It was a real hit and helped raise money for a great cause!

We would sit on the wood benches and watch the boys play baseball. Sometimes we would walk to each others house in our robes at night to talk and visit while everyone slept. She would cut my hair and do my nails. Barbara and I were good friends and it was just so much fun to hang out. Now that she lives in Colorado, I see her briefly on visits to town. It was fun to get a call that she was in Bellevue! So I ran out to meet up with her today.

As boating season opens we had some relatively good weather. I invited a few friends on the boat for dinner before the Singles Yacht Club Meeting. It was so much fun. I captured Diana, Elly, Kathleen, Pam, Ann, and Julie in these photos onboard the Rophy!

Colin and Terrah spent their honeymoon money on a great boat and named it... the "Honeymooner!" They came to visit this weekend along with some friends. Here are also a couple pictures of both of them and little Riley. I love that they are out on the water! I haven't been on the boat.. yet!
